Botanical Name: Tectona grandis

Descriptions:

• Uniform dark golden brown

• Sapwood white to pale yellow

• Straight grains, but occasionally wavy

• Texture is coarse and uneven

• Greasy and may contain white shiny deposits

Color Ranges and Color Change:

Dark golden yellow weathered to rich brown with darker, chocolate brown markings

Wood Density: 600 - 640 kg m-3 air dry

Durability: 10 years and more

 

Uses: Meant for construction, boat building, furniture making, domestic flooring, exterior uses and ship building 

Size: Common thickness of 20 - 50mm.
